Become a Heart of Centerville Member
The Heart of Centerville is a 60-plus member organization created and maintained to foster growth and development of Centerville businesses. It is comprised of primarily “family owned” businesses who recognize the need to work together to grow their business and community. We are all busy with the day to day operations- making our businesses run profitably. The details of marketing and networking, which are the ONLY way your business will grow, are usually the first to be pushed aside. The HOC provides an active marketing program for you- an extra way to promote and grow your business.
Why join the Heart of Centerville? Here are a few reasons to consider:
- Over 60 local businesses are members. We operate as a Cooperative- working together as one large business unit.
- Power in Numbers:
- Advertising: When we combine our dollars we are able to get greater discounts for advertising in many different forms.
- Networking: you have the opportunity to meet and talk with other small business owners just like you. Share ideas, solve issues, join forces to cross-market and network. Members are most likely to refer others in their networking circle.
- Referrals. The member businesses of the organization promote their cooperative members. That means you have 60 businesses promoting your business to all of their customers.
- Events-
- Third Friday After Hours: Created to provide opportunity for the community to visit the Heart of Centerville after business hours. The event was extremely successful this year and will continue throughout the year...
- Holiday Walk: The City of Centerville has pledged $2,500 per year through 2011 towards advertising for this event. As a member you are included in this advertising. When combined with the other money set aside from the HOC, this adds up to $10,000 worth of advertising yearly for you. You can’t touch that kind of advertising as a solo small business.
- Numerous other events: Many of our businesses are deeply connected within the community and are invited to participate in grand scale events. The HOC board works with these businesses to increase the scope of the events by inviting other local businesses to participate- YOU.
- An “off-site” Marketing Team. Your board members meet every Friday informally to discuss ways to further promote the Heart of Centerville, and the group meets formally once per month. You benefit from these efforts whether or not you attend every meeting.
- A presence on the Heart of Centerville Website. This site receives thousands of visitors. You receive a mini-page with your logo, business description and contact information and a link to your personal website.
- Your business identified on the fold out walking map. Over 10,000 maps are printed and distributed yearly. You are included as part of your membership. For an additional $100, you can have your business card included in the map, doubling your exposure.
Again, all of this is available for a yearly membership fee of $150. You can’t purchase any one of the above for that cost.
